Shot in black & white on a low budget in 1960, Psycho is arguably the very first slasher movie.

Follow small-time swindler Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) on her one-way journey to The Bates Motel. Here, she meets Norman (Anthony Perkins), a polite young man with mother issues whose main hobby is taxidermy. Things end badly for Marion in the shower – a three-minute scene that’s gone down in movie history.
