Bangor’s music lovers are in for a special treat this November as one of the town’s most fondly remembered bands prepares to strike up once more. Seven of Hearts, the talented jazz group who made their name in the Midnight Lounge during the swinging 1970s, will reunite for a final performance at The Courthouse on Sunday 23rd November.
Formed by students of the Southeastern Music Centre, Seven of Hearts quickly became known for their spirited sets, their love of classic jazz, and their youthful energy. Over the years, many of the band’s members went on to become professional musicians and teachers, carrying the spirit of those early days with them.
Now, some fifty years on, the group has decided to come together for one more afternoon of music and merriment. The reunion was sparked during a recent gathering of the old friends, where fond memories — and perhaps a few tall tales — were shared. With instruments dusted off and chops carefully warmed, the Isle Boys are ready to relive the magic.
The performance promises to be a nostalgic affair, echoing the golden days of Bangor’s nightlife. Those who remember the Midnight Lounge are especially invited to join the celebration and raise a glass to good music, lasting friendship, and one final swing.
