In partnership with UNTAP, a new Bangor-based professional talent agency, we bring you the first of an exciting series of theatre works in development, by some of Ireland’s finest emerging writers and actors.
Bonny and Read is the tale of Anne Bonny and Mary Read, two women who went out on the high seas during the Golden Age of Piracy to seek their fortune, and found a kindred spirit. This funny, raunchy, moving piece is a story about love and deception – Our Flag Means Death meets Thelma and Louise. As Anne and Mary face the hangman’s noose, the former lovers must confront hard truths in what might be their last chance to be truly heard.
Written by Rachel Walshe and performed by Katie Breen and Rachel Walshe, this pilot piece will be performed in the intimate Open Arms bar, and followed by an audience feedback session to help shape the future development of the piece into a full length production.
