In Conversation With Stephen Walker.
We’re thrilled to welcome the former Labour cabinet minister and award-winning author Alan Johnson back to Bangor for his fourth visit to the festival.
Since his last appearance in 2019, Alan has published three thrillers: The Late Train to Gipsy Hill, One of Our Ministers is Missing and Death on the Thames. For his latest publication he has returned to non-fiction, with a biography of Harold Wilson, arguably one of the most successful Prime Ministers of recent times. Alan will be talking to former BBC NI political correspondent and author, Stephen Walker, who recently published a biography of the late John Hume, about the achievements of the Wilson Era, and examining the politician who was as much a part of the 60s as the Beatles and the Profumo scandal.
Our book partner Waterstones will have copies of Harold Wilson on sale with a special festival 10% discount, which Alan will sign. It is also available to buy at Waterstones Bangor, Lesley Bloomfield Shopping Centre – and you can still claim the 10% Festival discount if you present any Open House Festival 2025 ticket.
Please note this is a festival event and an Open House Festival Ticketsolve login will be required to be book tickets.
Please note this event is theatre seated. If you have any accessibility requirements please get in touch with us here.
