An evening of music by Ryuichi Sakamoto

Composer, pianist, record producer, and actor Ryuichi Sakamoto is perhaps best known for the score of the 1983 movie Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence which starred David Bowie. To mark the first anniversary of his death, Ruth McGinley – one of Ireland’s leading pianists – will curate and perform a selection of Sakamoto’s music, accompanied by Dublin-based composer Matthew Nolan. Expect to hear tunes that influenced and pioneered a number of electronic music genres, as well as seeing –and hearing – a baby grand piano on the Court House stage for the first time. Please note this is a fully-seated show and that tickets are limited.
