Bangor’s Ghost: Open House Festival & The Court House in collaboration with Friends of Columbanus present an evening at Bangor Abbey that celebrates 1500 years of place, words and music from this Island.
Performing songs of our history from the days of St Columbanus right through to more recent times are two critically acclaimed songsters from the Bangor’s Ghost collective David Lennon and Rachel McCarthy. David Lennon, also known for “Folk on a Boat” brings vigorous Irish traditional voice and subjects to the fore, counterbalanced with Rachel McCarthy’s airy and more contemporary style of writing that is also rooted in Celtic folk sounds. Joining them onstage with be special guest musicians and poets.
Expect captivating tales of labour, love and triumph entangled with the trials and tragedies that have taken place on this beautiful land that we call home.
