Neil Shawcross MBE, RHA , HRUA has made a huge contribution to art in Ireland for over 60 years. Born in Lancashire in 1940 he took up a part time teaching post in Belfast in 1962 and stayed, becoming one of our most important artists. At 86 he remains a constant innovator , energy and inspiration. Having donated his magnificent portrait of Charlie Whisker (that now hangs in the Drawing Room), we are delighted that Neil has agreed to share his life in art with us on 17th August in conversation with local art enthusiast David Lennon. It promises to be a colourful, joyous and highly entertaining insight into the life, times and work of one of our greatest adopted sons.
