WAITING LIST

How does a novel become an award-winning bestseller? Join us to discuss two books that have won a raft of awards between them, and sit on the top of countless bestselling lists. Close to Home by Michael Magee is a striking tale of poverty, love and trauma in post-conflict Belfast. Literary thriller Yellowface by Rebecca F. Kuang shines a spotlight on the publishing industry itself.

Panellists are Nick Garbutt, journalist, writer and obsessive reader, and Anne Madden, a journalist and communications expert whose debut novel The Wilderness Way, was recently published by HarperCollins. Chairing the evening is comedy writer and performer Nuala McKeever, who’ll be performing her one woman play Truth, Love or Promise, at the Lyric Theatre Belfast in late August.

Please note this is a festival event and an Open House Festival Ticketsolve login will be required to be book tickets.
