At our June Court House Book Club, we’ll be discussing two recently published paperback novels.
Night Swimmers by Roisin Maguire from Downpatrick is set in a fictional Northern Irish coastal village during lockdown and examines the comfort of unexpected connections in a time of deep unease. In the genre-defying The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley, a bureaucrat in near-future London finds love with a Victorian Arctic explorer. Longlisted for The Women’s Prize for Fiction, it is one of the books of the moment.
Panellists are Susan Feldstein, literary agent at The Feldstein Agency, ghostwriter, and co-founder of Dalzell Press, and Dr Tara West, Creative Writing lecturer and author of two novels, Fodder and Poets are Eaten as a Delicacy in Japan, and a memoir, The Upside of Down. Chairing the discussion is writer and Open House PR, Lesley Allen.
