The Court House Book Club returns on Wednesday 23rd October with two powerful and very different novels. Prophet Song by Paul Lynch won the 2023 Booker Prize. A work of breathtaking originality, it follows one woman’s attempts to save her family in a dystopic Ireland that is sliding into authoritarian rule. Tom Lake by Ann Patchett is a meditation on youthful love, married love, and the lives parents have led before their children were born. Discussing the books are Nick Garbutt and Louise Farr, both regular Book Club panellists. Louise is an award-winning writer of short stories whose work has appeared in several anthologies and been featured on BBC Radio 4. Nick is a writer, communications expert, and prolific reader. Chair for the evening is writer and Open House PR, Lesley Allen.
