Set in 1960s Hong Kong, Mr Chow and Mrs Chan are residents of an apartment block who on discovering that their spouses are both cheating, become drawn into an enigmatic liaison. Director Wong Kar-wai weaves a mesmerizing tale of repressed desire and thwarted emotions. Sumptuous cinematography, extraordinary acting and a truly iconic sound track all make for a rapturous experience.
