Poetry and a Pint is BACK! This evening of original poetry takes place in the upstairs Drawing Room, and is hosted by Bangor Literary Journal’s Amy Louise Wyatt and Paul Daniel Rafferty. They will be joined by two multi-award winning and critically acclaimed poets, Linda McKenna and Maurice Devitt, who will showcase their work before opening the floor to an open mic session. If you want to take the floor for the open mic, please say so in the comments section at time of booking. If there are more than 15 requests, those who booked first will take priority.
Maurice Devitt, Dublin born, won the 10th Annual Bangor Poetry Competition. The Curator of the Irish Centre for Poetry Studies site, his second collection ‘Some of These Stories are True’ was published by Doire Press in 2023.
Linda McKenna is a previous winner of both the Seamus Heaney Award for New Writing and the An Post Irish Book Awards Poem of the Year. Her second collection ‘Four Thousand Keys’ was published by Doire Press in 2024.
