23rd September marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of jazz legend John Coltrane but it is on Thursday 12th November that we celebrate it. The first set of the evening will feature a performance of the classic album, A Love Supreme, and after a short interval this young quartet of jazz musicians led by our own local sax hero, Michael McDowell, will play Coltrane favourites including Giant Steps, Blue Train, Naima and My Favourite Things.
Tonight’s quartet is Michael McDowell on sax, Rohan Armstrong on double bass, Sean Miguel Murray on drums and Zak Irvine on keys.
