Directed by Carlos Saura, this 1983 tour de force follows a dance troupe as rehearse for a flamenco version of Bizet’s opera. Antonio, the choreographer, and the mesmerising young dancer selected to play Carmen become star-crossed lovers as the lines between art and life blur.
